It's a little intimidating writing about somebody that you know will be reading it later. Anyways, here goes. This guy is currently 25 years old. He is studying Computer Science at Brigham Young University Idaho. Previously he was studying at University of North Dakota. When he is through with the school work he wants to bring joy to countless men, women, teenagers, and unhygienic shut-ins (I'm just saying, statistically speaking, you know it's true.) by creating computer games with his best friend Paul. He is married to the love of his life: the gorgeous, brilliant, ever-fabulous, excruciatingly humble, Nichole Lindsey Mauriala for time and all eternity. They were married in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple on April 13th, 2011. Ben's hobbies include playing computer games (shocker.), Lifting weights, and... School? -no, wait that's not a hobby, that's a death sentence... uh, work? -nope. Shoot! Surely he has more hobbies than that! You'd think a person would know the man they married. Oh, well. Also, he is the Son of Debra Sue Campbell/Mauriala and John Timothy Mariala. I would describe him in a word as: cute, eccentric, funny, smart (usually too smart for his own good.) friendly, and hard working-ope, that's not exactly one word is it? Oh well! And there you have it: My husband, Ben.

This is the place where I am supposed to describe the person mentioned above. Since I plan on "spotlighting" a member in my family on here every week or two, it won't always be about me. However, I figured the best place to start was with me. It was a good idea until I got to this portion. Now I just feel a little narcissistic. I assure you that I'm not- or maybe I am. I don't know, would a narcissistic person be able to identify if they were being a narcissist? Food for thought.
Anyways. I guess I'll tell the story of why I am doing this.
It all started on Sunday. The room that Benjamin Mauriala (My Husband) usually go to for sunday school was all full. This is a particularly big problem due to the fact that it is the only Sunday school room with cushy chairs for my bum. So instead we were banished to the "other" Sunday school class. As it turns out that class was the first class on Family History. At one point the couple that was teaching the class was trying to convey that everyone can do something for family history. That got me thinking.... "what can I do for family history that is different from everyone else?" This is what I came up with. I can blog. Some months I am better at it than others, but I can do it. I figured that Every week or so I would spotlight a family member. Eventually I'll run out of living family members to put on here then things will get tricky. I'll have to research. and this little portion will get smaller and smaller. But that's my goal. I want to introduce you to my family. Hopefully, years down the road my kids, and grand kids and great great great grand kids will find it and I will have introduced them to their family so that when we are all dead and gone, they will know us as people, not just names.
ME:
I am, right now, 21 years old. I am also, Married to the best husband ever, Benjamin Michael Mauriala. We have been married for 9 months and 5 days. We don't have children just yet. We are both in school at Brigham Young University Idaho. I am studying Biology with an emphasis in Human Biology. When I grow up I want to be a Nurse. specifically I want to be a NICU nurse. I know, how the heck am I going to become a nurse with a degree in human biology. I don't know. Beats me. but it feels right. Clearly it wont be the end of my education road. My hobbies are, swimming, running, blogging (clearly) and nothing doing. I'm a recognized nothing doing champion in 48 US states. My parents are David Craig Heffner and Shellie Lynee Ryer/Heffner. My favorite food is hot wings. (I don't know why that matters, but it's my blog. I'll do what I want with it!) I am also the first LDS member in my family. I was Baptized in April of 2007 at 16 years old. Shortly after I was baptized, my mother was baptized, but that's a different story for a different spotlight.
